current draw with all selectable consumers off +++ yet another Nigerian scam story

Hi Ben,
Business first. How did you measure the 40ma? Did you do it with a digital
VMO in series with ground of the battery? How did you calculate the amp
hours of the battery? Vendors stopped specifying amp hours long ago and are
selling shorter lifetime batteries with CCA burst specs. I don't have a
spec for all consumers off for your car, but I would start looking for a
culprit. I seem to remember that my car with a digital clock and a radio
drawing was no more than 10ma. Start disconnecting things ONE AT A TIME in
an orderly manner and you may find the culprit.
WRT Nigerian scams: I sometimes report them to SpamCop which is like
urinating against the Pacific. Sometimes I respond asking them to show good
faith by confirming that they are willing to wire a deposit of, say $250K,
to an account of my choosing. So far, I've had total silence from that
point on.
WRT to the purchase version of that scam. Nothing takes place when I sell
something until the
M O N E Y is in my account and I move it at least once. Years of diddling
with internet scammers has taught me that lesson. Money talks, bs walks....
an old Vegas mantra.
Cheers!
Jim Jordan
