I wouldn't waste time buying propane just to do that, though of course
it's fun to have around for lots of other things.

We once pounded the living daylights out of a friends MB front rotor, no
luck.  Dumped all the heat into it that we could with mapp gas (propane
on steroids?) to no avail.  (all the dents in the surface of the rotor
really helped his braking effectiveness though!)

5 minutes with a flame wrench at a real shop and it was off.  Acetylene
is a *lot* hotter and faster.
