Seth,
  IT sounds like the internal contacts inside the key switch are
worn.  Watch your temps when you drive as your Electric Fan may
not be turning on either.
  I would start by getting an entire new switch mechanism.  A
local locksmith should be able to key it to your existing keys
for less than $50.
