I wouldn't worry about the oil temp if it's just city driving.
Does your heater provide good heat? If so, then your problem is likely the
gauge temp sender. Easy to change and not very expensive.
If bad heat, then look at replacing the thermostat.

Also, how do you remove the rear view mirrors from the housings?
