I've done this several times with products from colorplus.com.
Get the Porsche black Surflex stuff, sand the leather with 320/400 grit
paper, clean and apply. You can apply to the entire wheel and it will look supah!
Make sure that you have a very good brush(see your local hobby shop). No
need to get their $20 sable brush.
3 years and mine still looks terrific.
