I have recently done a complete Brake Job on my 97A6Q, using speed bleeders.
They actually work great, though I thought I had a lot of air in the line as
well so I took it into the shop for bleeding. It turns out that the brakes
needed to be seated. Even After the shop did a manual bleed and did the
recommended 50mph-20 50-0 a few times they were still spongy. I took a long
trip ~200mi and the brakes seated properly and work like they are suppose to.

After bleeding my brakes in the shop and they were still spongy they told me
the master cyl was bad, luckly I just took the car home and 3 days later they
were in perfect operating condition. You may want to check out
speedbleeders.com also.
