I am in need of some advise regarding a couple of my cars, they are an '86
CGT and an '82 Cpe I need a car to drive this winter and neither of these is
running. The '86 has a problem with the fuel injection, it won't run, it
acts like it is being starved for fuel, I have an extra little pushbutton
under the dash to actuate the 6th injector, and it doesn't help very much.
I have verified there are no blockages, and there is fuel pressure at the
fuel distributer, but when I pull an injector, sometimes fuel comes out and
sometimes it doesn't. The '82 was running when it was parked 5 years ago, I
filled the engine with oil up to the top of the head, and drained all of the
coolant from the engine, what are some things I should look for when
reviving this car?, I have new flexible brake lines, new rear wheel
cylinders, all new coolant hoses, and new belts. I know I should flush the
gas tank, there really shouldn't be very much in there anyway. If you were
in my position what would you do, revive the '82, or try to fix the '86 that
was running last spring, but left me stranded several times, and has had
the same problem for a couple of years off and on.
Thanks,
Chris
