with out a hitch

Hello listers, I am planning a move from Boston, Ma. to Lincoln, Ne. soon
and am looking into the possibility of using a small trailer behind my
4KQ. The car runs fine (a bit hot but not bad) and made the trip to SC and
back this summer, so I'm confident in her.

My question is, what are my options for a hitch and how much can I get
away with towing? I have pulled full sized trucks out of ditches with her
so I know she can take some abuse, but how much?
The other option is to rent a truck and haul the car. I don’t want to do
this as I will only be taking a small amount of stuff and it would be a
waste. Any thoughts/advise/info would be much appreciated.
