Just to add my two cents. I found this on Mini-ITX.com. I didn't see
anyone mention ITX yet, but if you are looking for a computer in a tight
spot, that is the way to go. These motherboards are 17CM square and
have low power processors up to 1GHz. The real key is that you can get
models with everything built in, even 6-channel surround and networking.
I found an I.C.E project, but from what this guy has set up, if he did
want guages and such it would be a matter of running a datalogger. He
already has the 7" 16:9 LCD touchscreen. He even has it set up for
voice command. Check this set-up out. -Sean
Hi,
The DSM boys have done something very similar, unfortunately I dont know
who did it and I dont have a link but if you search for 'DSM
dataloggers' you should be able to find it.
The guy who did it there used a palm device and wrote his own software
in palm OS. You could use win ce oir linux and do it all in Java. The
big advantage of the PDA approach is you get a color touch screen in
with the cost of the PDA, and lots of programming resources. then you
need to figure out how to get all the signals you ned into the PDA.
and for MP3 you just use the SD card for data transfer, with OTS MP3
software
