Rob, What I've found works best is to have both front wheels off the
ground and then it is pretty easy to lever the track control arm down
with a 3 foot bar (pipe, or whatever). Believe me, I've tried this with
only 1 wheel off the ground and it won't work! Your idea of compressing
the strut is good, but I think raising the whole front of the car is
going to be a bit quicker and easier.
