Ah HA!  I didn't think I was making that up - couldn't find it on snopes.com
and all....thank-you.  BTW, my wife's '02 CRV has a chain, not a belt - they
still have a change interval though.
I wonder what kind of an "Engineer" would just increase the number in the
handbook without changing the belt itself.  Around here, you do things like
that you get written up in the dreaded "Blue Pages" of the association so
everyone in the profession can see how you lost your licence.  I think
Andrew should be "drying his powder" in anticipation of a
less-than-favourable response from his dealer.
