Exhaust Manifold Question

Yeah talk about a catch22..it's like you need to remove the motor mount bracket
to remove the manifold and you need to remove the manifold to remove the motor
mount braket. Con't know what that must be like actually trying to do it with
the engine in the car - Took me about an hour to do it with the engine on the
garage floor, as the motor mount braket on the engine being used to keep the
motor upright. I had to back the nut off 3 degress at a time - if the stud was
coming out, well maybe cut the stud with a sawzall and put in a shorter stud
when you reinstall.

Regarding the manifolds, the three I've had off only had the smallest of a
fissure, not even really a crack.

[I just took off my 4kq EM and it was BADLY cracked. This car has been
pampered and has just 100K on it now.. so youre right, cracking isnt
just for turbo cars!! All my exhaust hangers were still intact as well.

In fact Im STILL trying to get off the lower stud for #4 cyl. Geez, what
were they thinking??!?!??!}
