Well like how quits? Does it just out and out die suddnely, or does it
sputter a bit first? I'm currently chasing a simmilar problem on my (now
EFI - SAME PROBLEM STILL!) '87 5ktq. I thought it was CIS relayed so I
tossed on a spare EFI computer (makes it sound too easy) and still have same
problem. At least now I know its electrical and not fuel related.
When mine was doing it it would be fine for about 30 min then it would start
sputtering for a bit (1/8th mile) before it died. I would stop, wait a few
minutes and it would fire up and go for a bit longer. I have found recently
that I have somtehin electrical up - when the rad fan turns on is when the
car dies now. Also if I turn on the A/C and lights it starts to die, hit the
high beams and it dies. Obviously low voltage, yet during this whole process
I read over 12.5v. Still tracking it down. Let me know if you want to hear
the solution.
