valve spring compressors?

Timmy,

This is how I do my R/R of valves. Assuming the head is out of the block,
otherwise, Javad's suggestion is the way to go.
I got two pieces of thick aluminum, drilled holes for two pieces of long
1/2" threaded rods.

One of the aluminum pieces goes under the head (with a plank of soft wood
between) and the other on the top. Both connected with the lond rods.
Pressing down the retainers I used the cut off socket used for the the
coupe's top nut of front shocks. I think it's a 22mm. I made up the distance
between the socket and the top bar with a socket extension.

It worked great. Just be careful to turn the rods' nuts at a similar speed
to maintain them at the closest level possible. I had offset wrenches on
each and turned them at the same time.

Another tip. Imerse in oil the top of the valve stem when you're mouting it
back. It acts as a glue for the 2 shells. BTW, I used a long curved tip pair
of pliers for these shells.

I hope it helps,

Carlos.
