hitting fuel cutoff after installing QLCC

I got a QLCC setup from a lister recently for my 87 5kcstq. Big smiles with
regards to the power improvement over stock. The only problem is that since
I installed it I have been hitting the fuel pressure cutoff. It's happening
at like 16psi of boost pressure every time. What should I do? The car isn't
pinging or anything and it doesn't feel like it's on the ragged edge. Is
there anything I can do to keep this much boost and avoid hitting the fuel
cutoff every time? Maybe my boost is out of control somehow?

Things I've done:

Installed the complete "kit" from Ben Swann, containing ECU, Strap, and
spring.
Installed an analog boost gauge. <-- until I did this I had no idea what was
wrong, because the stock digital gauge was too slow to respond. It would
still be showing 1.5ish when the cutoff was happening, whereas now I see
that it is happening at 1.95ish every time.
Swapped in the wg spring from my UrQ, it seemed stiffer and longer than the
stock one from the t44. Now I don't hit the cutoff much in first gear, but
in later gears it still happens.

I wholeheartedly recommend one of the chip mods to anyone who hasn't done it
yet. The car is a whole different animal. Do it NOW if you haven't already.
