Don't be fooled by the window going down. I had the
same problem. It turned out to be broken wiring between
the driver's door and the door jamb.  See my write-up on

If it is a broken wire, a permanent fix can be made by
splicing a 12" (30cm) between the broken pieces, and
tucking the joints into the door and door jamb.
