AKAIK, the 1986 and 1987 5000 turbos are the same MC-1 engine at a
compression ratio at 7.8 : 1

IIRC, the MC-2 came along in 1989 with two knock sensors, a different
computer, and a higher compression ratio  at 8.4 : 1.  There were other
differences too.  Some 1989's used the MC-1 engine and others used the
MC-2.  Of course, the car was "renamed" 200 in the USA in 1989 with an
updated interior too.
