TT test drive

Forgive me, Audi friends, I meant to write sooner to thank those of you who
responded to my request for TT info. I did get to take a test drive and really
enjoyed it. The car I drove was just off the truck. While looking at the
audiusa website I never thought I liked the dark blue color but seeing it in real
life on the car, I fell in love. The top was also dark blue and together it
made for a gorgeous looking car. I found true everything you guys told me.
Although it felt roomy (I'm 5'10") I was somewhat uncomfortable with the fact that I
couldn't rest my arm on the door - it was too high up. Visibility out the
back was a little iffy. I drove the 225 and it was nicely peppy (for this
female's taste, LOL).

The stumbling block was, of course, the price. The BEST price they came up
with was $42,000! They wouldn't even consider a trade-in on my 140,000 mile A6.
Silly me, I don't know what I was thinking: I told him I'd like to keep the
payments at $400 a month. The computer made the calculations and came up with a
downpayment of 20 something thousand dollars, LOL. I actually walked out of
there considering it. Of course, my DH flipped when I got home and told him the
price. It didn't help that we had paid $42,000 for our first house!

I was disappointed but its probably better to not have a TT then to be eating
cat food when I'm seventy! Soooooo......

I did get a new car - a Miata. OK, so the top doesn't go down at the touch of
a button. Other than that - its got everything and I have to admit, its a
blast to drive! Going from an A6 to this -   the sound level is quite different:
I'm not used to the zoom-zoom yet. I'm having so much fun driving a 6 speed
though, I'm really have a good time and I can rest my arm on the door and see
out of the back window when the top is up. The best part is that I am able to
keep Baby. Truthfully, I've never had two cars in my entire life...it
feels....decadent ;-) I really felt like I got a lot for a lot less money, so I'm happy.
I feel like I have the best of both worlds!
