Bose speakers

First of all, my apologies for bringing this up again.

I've seached the archives, and found scores of emails about replacing the
stock stereo and retaining the amped Bose speakers, but found no definative
answer. Many problems, but no answer!

Has anybody determined whether the original speakers ('91 200q) can be used
an aftermarket head unit/changer?

I have a high end Blaupunct (mid '90s vintage) with a 12 CD changer I'd
really like to install.  Am I shopping for speakers now?  The rears were
recently replaced under recall.
