After getting the valve cover back off and cleaning up the mess, I verified 
that I had the right gasket-- the one with the recessed rings.  I did, so when 
I put the cover back on I used some of the Napa gasket sealer on it.  It's this 
red glue stuff that comes in a spray can.  I made sure the gasket was lined up 
right and screwed the thing back together...

That did the trick.  Nice and dry after a spirited drive.  I think I've got 
this thing licked.

Oh yeah, the www.sjmautotechnik.com website has some good stuff on it - got it 
bookmarked.
