I am on my second set of euro lights in my 4kq
that should tell you guys that are considering it something.
My first set was a type 81 with the flat lenses
2nd set currently installed, is type 85 with the sloped lenses
both were h4/h1 configuration
i built the harness my self in less than 2hrs and under $20
i need to modify it a bit, like enclosing the relays, but outside of that no
problem
i either used 14 or 12 guage to the lights and 12 or 10 guage to power the
relays.
wires any bigger than that are overkill.
although the distance between the relays and bulbs matters in great
distances, you should have no problem or notice any difference by having the
relays next to the light(12" + - ) or where i placed mine(near the heater
air intake - 3 or 4 feet). they shine bright enough for me.
one thing i also learned, dont use blue bulbs with these configurations
(Osram silverstar are great)
your regular halogen bulbs, 80/100 for the h4 and 100 for the h1, in a pitch
black road, you will see almost like daylight.
i have yet to figure out a turning signal mod, but very soon i should have
it.
if you have any questions, or would like to know more about what i have done
feel free to contact me
HTH
My 2 cents
