Swap the fuel pump relay in from the '86.  I have an old fuel pump relay 
that makes my car run like yours.  Beats me how, but it does. 

I assume you swapped in the known good ignition wires and plugs?  What 
about the coil?

Also, have you checked the ECU codes after a run with the miss?

Try, if you have not, disconnecting the cold start injector wires.  Just 
to make sure no extra gas is coming in from the cold start injector.

Consistent rich is still an indication of an air leak between the 
metering box and the cylinders.  You are sure the intercooler is not 
leaking?  All of the air hoses are really ok?
