As Alan says, also check the door pin switch to make sure that it is
making contact when you open the door.  The dome light should come on
if you have it set that way, and with key in ignition or headlight on,
the chime should sound if you open the door.

Depends on the nature of the fault.  The relay contains a circuit board
of electronics.  If you're adept at debugging and fixing that, then
it's possible to fix it.  Otherwise, just replace and forget.
