'72 100LS grill on an '86 5kcstq

It appears that the dual round headlight grill from a '72 100LS sedan
will fit on an '86 5kcstq with little modification.  The grill fits
between the turbo style corner markers nicely, and it looks like reverse
angle of the grill won't interfere with the IC.  A little trimming, a new
wiring harness and welding the 100LS headlight bracket onto the turbo one
is about all that is needed.  It looks like I have to do this...
 
It's interesting how similar these cars have stayed over the years. 
There is a bevel on the grill (which will be hidden by the corners light)
that matches the accent line on the type 44.
