Question on baby safety

Jeryd,
I recommend getting an avant. I have found the avant to be great for handleing 2, even 3 baby seats in the rear seat.
I have had several of the type 44 quattro avants(5000 and 200 series), as well as the 4000, 80 and 90 based quattros. You'll appreciate the extra space and creature comforts of the avant(station wagon). The headroom on entry is a little low compared to a mini-van, but far more fun to drive! IMO a little better as a family wagon and handle much better than most minivans.
I drive mine like a sports car, and although handling is not quite as nimble as the smaller 4000s and 80/90 series, the highway manners rule, and I mean over just about any other vehicle on the road - If I recall correctly, Audi held claim to fame for having the worlds fastest S-wagons for many years, and even by todays standards, these are some fast cars and have great fuel economy to boot (OK the 200q20v trades some economy for performance).
You can also add a trailer hitch and tow some fairly significant loads - I have no problems hauling as much as most 1.5 ton pickups, and when I'm done, I leave the extra weight at home.
Just do your homework via the list to make sure you get a well sorted one - pay the extra up front and make sure everything is working and in good repair.

Hey all, thanks for the comments! They are really helpful to remind me how
tuff these cars are.
<snip>
That's fine with me, but I want to get an Audi Quattro (for myself). I just
wanted to make sure on the odd days that I get to drive the kid around that
a car seat will work fine in the rear seat. And from what I am reading it
sounds like it will.
Thanks for the advice!
