HELP! Lots of extra engine gaskets left over...

So, I made some decent progress on rebuilding my motor this week. I got the bottom end pretty much done, but it seems that there are a lot extra bits left in the crankcase gasket set and also some doubles it seems. I only used one of the green paper gaskets (looks like radioactive material sign w/ ears) on the oil filter housing. There's one left over and there's also 2 brown ones that have no ears or mounting holes in them. And I really have no idea where to use those different sized o-rings... there's gotta be at least 8 of 'em left over. Is there s'posed to be an o-ring under the oil pickup tube or just a paper gasket? I'd really appreciate any advice or BTDT's to calm my worries. Oh and this is a KH motor if that makes a difference.
