I think you have it covered. The correct answer is "whatever
someone will pay." $5300 is probably a high mileage (125K+)
example. Cars.com has 12 cars for less than $9K, 3 of them
1997s. The 95s range from $4700-7800. There's a 1995.5 *S6*
on s-cars.org for $12.9K. If your car has had recent maintenance
(like the timing belt, which is a big ticket item), and you have
the receipts, it will be worth more than a car needing that
service. Other Audi-specific things (over and above typical
used car things like tires, brakes, body, and exhaust), that
contribute to the value are HVAC working or not, electrical
issues (sunroof doesn't work, seat heaters don't work), auto
vs. manual transmission, and the stereo making funky noises
(the BOSE stereos are notorious for failing). Finally, location
also has a lot to do with a quattro's value. People in the snow
belt will pay more, especially in the fall, while people in
FL or S.CA won't.

My ballpark guesstimate for yours, sight unseen: $6500. That's
mostly because you're 10K miles away from needing a timing belt.
And that assumes everything else is in good working condition.
Deduct for worn tires, brakes, upholstery, dings and dents,
pitted windshield, etc.

Kent
