Ignore Dave and Huw (sorry guys).
This is what you should do:

Leave all your useless crap behind -- furniture,
dishes, pots and pans, etc.  Hold a big yard
sale. [1] Then drive - it's way cheaper than flying.
When you get to the other end, buy used stuff to
replace your old goods.  The tough part is you're
probably emotionally attached to stuff.
