OK. Have you checked the D+/61 circuit? Does the light on the dash come on
when you turn the key to the "ON" position? If so, does it go out when the
engine is running and goes above 1500 RPM? If it doesn't come on, then you
need to remove the blue wire (D+) from the back of the alternator and ground
the end with the key on. If it lights then, the alternator is bad (given
there is a new regulator, and that the reg. is securely screwed down to the
back of the alternator). If it doesn't light, then you need to see if the
bulb is burned out and if there's power to the other side of the bulb. When
you unground that wire, if the light lights up, the light should go out. If
it doesn't, there's a short to ground somewhere along the wire. Simple
things, often overlooked. HTH, John

> The saga continues.... I replaced the voltage regulator tried the
alternator again and still no luck. Took off teh alternator and took it to
advance Auto Parts and thad tehm check it. He said it was fine except he
had a hard time getting a ground at the bolt on points but he was able to
get one fine on the body when he scratched it a bit. Could it be that I
just have had a bad ground (beyond the voltage regulator which was
definitely in need of replacement)? Seems kinda unlikely given that it
touches the body at three points.

suggeeeeested that I replace the alternator but given that it was checked
out and found to be fine I am hesitant about just outright replacement.
