Typical factory behavior.  They've known about this problem for a Looong
time, the cars that made their way to countries with less than stellar
road systems have been dropping front ends for years, repairs at the
owners expense after the warranty was up, of course.  This is not limited
to Audi/VW, some German made Opels (sold under the Chevrolet name in a
few countries) with the aluminum suspensions have been doing the same for
a while too.
