That tool is for "flaring," or widening, a short section of pipe so it
can slide over the next section. Not really what you are looking for.

Don't forget some sort of gasket for them. I don't think those are VAG
style, thick and with a bevel for the donut seal.
I would second the stainless slip joint advice - Audi does the type 89
exhausts with one, and it works quite nicely.
On one of my early "custom" exhausts, I think I made one of those flares
for a donut match-up by beating on the end of the pipe with a big hammer
until it sort of worked. Sort of.
