I converted my race Rabbit to studs. If I remember correct it uses
M12x1.5 I bought 16 long fully threaded cap screws. In the back I ran
them through the drums from the inside and fixed them with loctite. In
the front I was putting on new hubs anyway and did the same thing.
Since the heads are still on the bolts, I used loctite, and I torqued
them they are not going anywhere. It turned out that Honda lug nuts
worked great. They are chrome and fit perfect. I actually still have a
lot left over (was planning to do 3 cars and only did 1).
The trouble is M14x1.5 fully threaded bolts that are long enough are a
touch expensive. Luckily it looks like you could install them without
removing the front hubs. I never studied the back. The other
difficulty is I have not found a good price for lug nuts. Seems most
are Por$che which tends to have an effect on price. Then again I am cheap.
Count me as another STRONG vote for studs. If you ever change tires at
an autocross or strip then you need them even more.
