Audi A8L wins Motor Trend comparo

Here are the rankings:

1. Audi A8L
2. Lexus LS430
3. VW Phaeton V8
4. Mercedes S430
5. Jaguar Vanden Plas (tie)
5. BMW 745i (tie)

As you can see, the VW actually placed quite well, beating the Mercedes,
Jaguar and BMW.  They liked the VW very much, the only gripe was that
it was the heaviest car of the bunch, and suffered in all-out
handling because of it.

"the VW badge on the hood may not say 'premium' to many auto shoppers,
but one drive in the Phaeton will be enough to convince them that
it should."
