Audi V8q vs. A8/S8q rear calipers...

Hi,
On a coupe you can do several things in the rear.

UrS4/S6 caliper and carrier
You can use either a Corrado G60(model) 4X100 rotor or New Beetle 5X100 rotor
(same as Euro S3). Both of these rotors are 280X22. The offset on these
rotors are a little different. The Corrado is the closest hat size to the coupe,
where as the New Beetle is offset a little too far out.

Both rotors need to be machined to fit. Both rotors need to have the center
bore enlarged from 65mm to 68mm. Both rotors need to have the diameters
machined down to 269mm. The Corrado rotor needs to be lug drilled to 5X112. The
New Beetle rotor needs to have the lug holes slotted to 5X112.

Carriers for the caliper bolted up to the hub carrier on the opposite side of
the carrier mounts from the way they are standard. The New Beetle rotor
requires shimming the carrier outward by about 1.5 to 2mm to center the rotor to
the caliper.

A8 rear caliper with 269X22 caliper Carrier.
This is the aluminum caliper. Basically you do the same thing as you would
have to do with the UrS4/6 caliper and carrier.

S8 rear caliper with 280X22 caliper Carrier.
This caliper is exactly the same as the A8 caliper, but comes with a
different carrier. The carrier moves the caliper upward to match the rotor diameter.

You still need one of the two rotors mentioned above. But you can leave off
the machining of the rotors down to 269.

By the way. The caliper weighs like nothing compared to the original coupe
caliper or UrS4 caliper.
