Turn Signal Question

Well, the turn signal canceller is a plastic tab on the steering wheel, 
that hits a spring lever on the turn signal bits as the wheel returns to 
the center.

So... the tab could be broken off, the turn signal mechanism could be 
broken - or, perhaps, the steering wheel column was not pushed towards 
the firewall when it was reattached to the pinion shaft?  That might 
make the canceller tab too far from the signal release mechanism parts...

I think, but I'm not sure, that what I am suggesting is based on fact, 
but removing the steering wheel and taking a good look should tell you 
what's up.
