need help with overheating 88 100q

Is this 20-valve engine specific, Brett?  The water pump on my wife's 4kq
failed by the shaft bearing or bushing (whatever that assembly is) wearing
out and the coolant leaking past the shaft.  The shaft wore enough to allow
the pulley to wobble but it didn't take out the timing belt.
