Speedometer not working

The speedo signal is taken to the radio harness for two reasons:

a) Geschwindigkeits-abhängige Lautstarkeregelung (GALA)

b) SatNav

GALA is a system that automatically increases the volume as you drive faster.  Audi was
certainly fitting it to the Type 44 in the late 1980s.  I'm quite happy with that, because I
fitted a Blaupunkt Travelpilot RNS 149 SatNav to my 1990 Type 44 turbo and used the GALA
signal.
