Attempting to be rational......Can you buy more car for $15k? That's in the
ballpark for an S6, with double-side galvanized body and advanced
5-cylinder engineering, not to mention a better repair manual. So a whole
bunch of people aren't interested. Who is left? Some individual with an
image in his mind that got locked in there under a head of steam in the
early 80's, or at a race or a show, after seeing one of those cars and not
being in a position to buy one.

They already have several new or nearly new cars for daily
drivers...possibly Audis. Plus a big garage with some extra slots. And the
house is paid for, or almost. Lots of assets and a large steady assured income.

IMHO, the buyer already wants that car so badly he(she?) can't think
clearly about it. And they have assets that make $15,000 fairly
trivial....like less than 5% of total assets. The money is just sitting
around in a money market alongside of more than a half million or so in
other investments.

Owning the car and caring for it has to be something the buyer isn't very
concerned about. It is already a sure thing....won't matter one way or another.

Maybe a museum will step up to the plate. The vehicle is being presented as
museum grade. And museums already have lots of cars, parking space, and a
staff that takes care of them.......and hopefully they have considerable
assets to support their activity.

Or, maybe whoever gets it will be just another Audiophile with exceptional
motivation and an empty credit card. Right now it is KAR.
