Yes... although I did this at the same time as changing the rack (on my 
coupe), I took the "return" to the reservoir and directed it into a 
bucket, removed the top of the reservoir and the filter, and with the 
coil unplugged used the key to run the pump a bit at a time, topping up 
the reservoir with fresh fluid each time it ran down.

Did this until the "waste" fluid ran clean, which took about one liter 
or so of Pentosin PS fluid.  Then I zipped it up and filled it, turning 
lock to lock, etc., while topping up and cranking with no fire.
