Is the battery different in diesel?

I am talking about the 5k, gas vs. diesel. I bought one that supposed to 
fit the diesel for my '88 5ktq because they didn't have one for my car. I 
figured the diesel must have the battery under the seat also, and if that 
is the case it can only be more powerful than the one needed for the gas 
engine.

Does anybody know if that's the case? Or, maybe it goes under the hood in 
the diesel? I haven't checked if it fits yet...
