Clutch question

FWIW: You can damage an individual gears' syncro without damaging others.
I did it when the tranny finally gave out by LEANING on the stick into third
gear to get a car rolling downhill when the clutch FINALLY failed.
It was my last shot to get home without being stranded

There were plenty of warning signs.

The last "problem" before the third gear "resque" was that the transmission
DID NOT disengauge at 45 MPH at the end of a highway off ramp.
and the last shift before that (at highway speeds 4th - 5th) had an awkward
Thunk to it.

AFAIK: If they all go or start to grind I'd bet its fluid related.
one or two: age of the tranny, one gear in my case? well that's MY fault, so
I skip 3rd everyday now.
