Well, not sure that's a fair standard by any measure.  It's a given the
aftermarket will always sell stuff cheaper than the dealer.  I suppose
it's all a matter of your personal perspective..... but if you want to
feel good about the price you paid for ANYTHING for your Audi just call
the dealer to "price compare."

I'll do it myself.  It doesn't look ridiculously difficult and I enjoy
the learning experience.  My shop is fairly well equipped and I welcome
the excuse to buy (or build) new tools.

Alignment is one thing I won't do myself.  Too much effort for
questionable results IMO (did that tire really scrub to it's final
resting place?).  After trying to self-align TTB Fords I learned my
lesson, or rather just got scared off alignment of any sort.  The only
alignment I'll do now is set toe and caster on a solid axle (hardly
applies to our Audis LOL).  Someday I'd love to build a bigger shop and
buy an alignment rack, until then I'll pay the pros.
