High pressure hose problems?

Hose problems here as well. '90 200 TQ, high side hydraulic hose started
seeping not long after I got it with 150k miles. When the hose gave out, we
replaced it. But that one *blew* a few months later - quite exciting.
Replaced on warranty, though I had to pay labor. Seven months later, the
replacement seeped for about a month, then blew out as well.

Supplier says he's out of hoses for now, and I'm driving with manual brakes
and steering. What's your guess on the chances the pump is the culprit? This
note posted today caught my interest: "The guy from WorldPac said that they
were sourcing their hoses from Audi, too many returns and problems with the
hoses they were selling in the last year or so... "
