Depends- on the 200q20v for example, the pump->bomb hose is two-piece
and the orifice is actually what looks like a large-ish spray-lube
extension with a collar, and the collar is sandwiched between the two
pieces...so it is easily transferred.

Maybe folks in this case are talking about the steering hose- which
doesn't have an orifice (I don't think- wouldn't make any sense for a
steering line, does for the charge-the-bomb line) but is a
double-hose design which acts to dampen noise. If you go with a
single hose, it'll be noisy- a number of listers have experienced
this.

I had a shop in Worcester rebuild the lower half of the pump->bomb
hose in the interests of saving money. The repair lasted for about 3
hours of driving before it leaked like a sieve and I lost most of my
hydraulic fluid.
