Audi vs. Subaru?

No offense, but I wouldn't expect anyone to come up to a Volvo S80
owner and say "cool car!" Maybe "nice car," but never "cool." I'd be
shocked if anyone came up to me when I'm driving the V70R and made a
comment like that.

Back to the original question, I think the Subaru Legacy 2.5GT is a
very nice car (definitely get the Limited) in terms of practicality.
In terms of snob appeal, the Audi wins hands-down. The Audi is also
much smaller, much less usable space, much slower, but better interior
quality and feel, worse driving dynamics.

Depends on what you want- an enthusiast would probably get the Legacy-
sheer power corrupts. I found the Volvo V50 to be more entertaining to
drive than the A4 during a recent test-drive.
