Check fault code with the Check Engine Light.
See there, is one of the best site for trouble shoot: http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/

Mine does it but always back to life second after.
I m in the preocess to find the problem.
But when it worsened dramatically it was the timing belt. It missed couple teeth.
  Check oxidation in connectors.
Check if pump run well when it happen, check fuel system pressure when you turn key on. Pump run ?

  How about distr cap ?

Car had been running fine but recently I noticed some minor bucking and surging when accelerating uphill in second. It would clear in a second or two. Today it worsened dramatically on the way home. The car began to surge then buck and finally quit along the side of the road.

Do the symptoms sound familiar? Thoughts?

    John
