Ive done this... all except for removing the plugs, and there was some
screeching.... almost sounding like a slooooow slip of a belt but It
must be a metallic sound. No belts are slipping nothing driven by
belts is siezed, just that odd screeching sound in the mid to rear of
oil pan.
thanks and let me know what you think it is..... I'm interested to know!!!
TIA
Jesper

Did you try turning it by hand (with a wrench on the crank nut)?
If not, take out the spark plugs, put the transmission in neutral,
put a big (32mm?) wrench on the crank nut and turn it... clockwise?
(facing the nut) It may help to have a second pair of hands, with a
mechanics stethoscope listening to the lower part of the engine
and the bell housing.
