Yep, it was pretty easy. You need an allen key to remove a single socket cap bolt. I replaced mine as well... cost about $25 at the dealer.

Refering to the 3/4 inc (approx) coolant outlet/inlet (?) on the rear top of
the 5 cyl block-hose leads to heater valve then core. According to parts
diagrams this is removable. Anyone removed this? Does it come out easily?
I just replace old hoses and could only force the new hose on part of the
way. The old nipple has a lot of corrosion on it that I couldn't remove so the
rubber does not slide over it easily. Holding OK and not leaking, but if that
nipple is easily replaced, I'll do it. Just don't want to take a chance on
damaging the old nipple if I can't get it out-it's been there for 17 years and
300k miles!
By the way-is that 3/4" or a larger metric size?
