A/C question...94 Cabriolet

Greetings,
I know this is an odd time of the year for an A/C question, but I just
recently acquired a 1994 Cabriolet, and this appears to be it's only
gremlin at the moment. Wondering if anyone else has dealt with this on a
B4 platform car: When I depress the A/C button on the venitilation control
panel, absolutely nothing....I mean nothing happens - the switch doesn't
light, the compressor doesn't engage at all; electric cooling fans don't
run. It is as if I never depressed the button. I have checked the fuses
and tried changing the relay. All appears fine. Is there something simple
that could have been disconnected during servicing of the car? It has to
be something fairly simple, because nothing happens at all, normally if I
had a low charge situation, the compressor would engage, and then the low
pressure switch would disengage it.
Well, if anyone has dealt with something like this, I would greatly
appreciate their input. Obviously, I won't be using the A/C anytime soon
here in rainy, slush covered Pennsylvania, but I would like to know it
works, when it is called upon.
Thanks to all in advance.
