4kq coolant temp gauge question

After repairing my odometer (car now has 130 miles on it :) ), my coolant temp gauge won't work.  I've tested all the connections and they all have continuity. But the gauge itself does not have continuity across the posts.  (They are clean as well as the nuts and washers.)  Should the gauge have continuity across it?  The fuel gauge does and seems to be the same type of gauge.  Thanks for the help!

P.S.  If anyone wants the new CG-Lock let me know!  I have a few in stock!  They work awesomely in my 4kq!
